The LINAC bunkers which form part of the new Radiology department for Nottingham University Hospitals is nearing it’s April deadline for it’s partial handover .  The Bunkers which form the main body of the building will be handed over to allow the 6 month commissioning period for the specialist machines to commence.

Work will continue on site to the exteranl envelope and the Mould workshops and fittings areas as programmed for the buildings completion later this year.

NUH LINACs off to a flying start..

Following the successful opening ceremony attended by hospital trust chief executive Dr Peter Homa, on the 4th of September, The first delivery of steelwork is being erected on site. Due for completion in July 2010, the Bunkers themselves will be handed over in March to allow the fit out and commision of the Linear Accelerators.This new facility being developed with Medicinq Simons under the NHS ProCure 21 Framework, will allow the NUH Trust to achieve the reduction in Cancer waiting times set down by the National Radiotherapy Advisory Group (NRAG).
