Culinary Architecture!

As you can see, Mr P is settling into his new job following his retirement from P+HS! He is of course enjoying his retirement gift and learning to use the knives professionally in the kitchens at Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons, under the watchful eye of Raymond Blanc and his team.
Tuesday was fish day. Chris and his colleagues have to prepare their own lunch each day and yesterday’s was Moules with curry leaves.
Today he will be cooking the French classic beef bourguignon without the aid of a Knorr packet mix! There are people running around looking after him, measuring for him, tidying up after him allowing him to concentrate on the difficult important stuff……….hmmmm…Retirement doesn’t sound very different Chris!

Thank You All

We learned on Friday that P+HS are once again named in Building Good Employers Guide as one of Constructions “good employers”!

Not only did we achieve inclusion as one of the top 50 in the country – we made the TOP FIVE….again!

Your support and commitment to P+HS is always greatly valued, as is your continued trust in the Directors,  but never more so than during the current, very difficult time for the profession.

We are delighted to be your management team and proud to be working with you.  Together,  we do make a crackin’ group of professionals!

Thank you from each of us.

Charity Cakes

Oh my word!  The kitchen here on Friday morning could have gone into competition with Betty’s…AND WON!

We wanted to take part in and support the MacMillan national coffee morning and so Gill, Patrice and Natalie (or Nigella, Fanny and Delia as we now call them – but not necessarily in that order!) baked and cooked up a feast, sticky sausages – so moreish, corned beef and sweet potato pie mmmm, bacon and leek quiche (with a sticky sausage on the side served as a traditional English breakfast!), flap jacks that satisfied any sweet tooth, and don’t even get me started on the cup cakes! (Yes I know Angela…they were called fairy cakes in my day too).  So a big fat (and after that lot I mean “fat”) thank you to them for the tremendous effort made, and thanks to all who have “purchased” the goods and enabled a generous donation to MacMillan, (over £80.00!!).  The generosity of everybody who works here at P+HS never fails to amaze me, particularly this year.  Thank you, you’re brill!

25 YEARS !

That’s how long Dave Delany has been contributing to the success of P+HS!

Then and Now

Dave joined the practice in 1985 joining Chris and Rowland as their first employee at 73 High Street Stokesley, and took possession of his brand new company car, a bright red Citroen 2CV! Sadly, the car didn’t survive with us as long as David has. (Irish manufacture as opposed to French perhaps!)

David was made an Associate of P+HS in January 2003 and has seen the Practice grow from just the three of them at 73 High Street to sixty of us across offices in Leeds, expanded offices at the Old Station in Stokesley, and more recently our office in London.

We wanted to take this opportunity recognize Dave’s contribution to the Practice and to simply say “Thank You” from all of us here.

Great Sailing at LBCC 2006

sailing.jpg

We had some great sailing at LBCC 2006, the Construction Industry’s premier corporate sailing event. Unlike last year, the winds were ideal for sailing and the sun shone some of the time – couldn’t ask for more! Clare, Jamie, David H, Steve H and Graham joined the team this year and experienced the thrill of close competitive sailing – and knowing when you’re allowed to shout at other boats!
