Thanks  to everyone who sponsored Team Pallion for the Pier to Pier Race on Sunday supporting Cancer Research and local charity Kidsmatta.

Braving strong winds and uneven terrain, I flew the flag for P+HS to run alongside Laing O’Rourke’s Fred Smith, Stacey Gaskill, Martin Edwards, Matty Hall, Barry Edwards and team friend Kurt Berwick.

The 7.5 mile race runs from South Shields Pier to Roker Pier following the coastal path via Souter lighthouse and Marsden Rock and covers cliff paths and sandy beaches – not the easiest underfoot! The whole team completed the race and so far have raised over £600 for the charities.

The 1500sqm building has a prominent street frontage on one of the main routes into the town and contains accommodation for a local GP practice along with new pharmacy, dental, podiatry and minor ops facilities.

‘The’ Health Village?

Recent images (courtesy of the P+HS in-house visualisation team!) of the proposed Eston Health village in Middlesbrough that went before a public consultation meeting last week. The 6500m2 ‘village’ combines five locally based GP practices along with accommodation for Planned Care, Integrated Care team facilities, Optician, Pharmacy, Dentist, Health Store and a new public library, all of which are linked by a central atrium space. Although the scheme was well received by the general public, there was a heated ’discussion’ regarding the proposed name of the building! The scheme is due to go to planning in mid-September 2007.
